Missouri…Illinois…

Mississippi River at Chester.

River forecasts are based on observed precipitation and forecast
precipitation for the next 24 hours.

* WHAT…Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE…Mississippi River at Chester.

* WHEN…From late tonight to Thursday afternoon.

* IMPACTS…At 28.0 feet, Unleveed islands near Chester and the
prison farm floods.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 11:30 AM CDT Sunday the stage was 25.1 feet.
– Forecast…The river is expected to rise above flood stage
just after midnight tonight to a crest of 28.0 feet tomorrow
evening. It will then fall below flood stage late Wednesday
morning.
– Flood stage is 27.0 feet.

A low-amplitude west/southwesterly mid/upper flow pattern will prevail Days 4-6/Tue-Thu. South/southeasterly low-level flow across the western Gulf into the southern Plains will allow for northward moisture transport and daily diurnal destabilization.
