.High temperatures on Tuesday afternoon will reach into the upper
70s across the eastern Nebraska Panhandle and western Sandhills.
Gusty west winds will develop in the afternoon and may reach up to
35 MPH, especially over the southeastern Nebraska Panhandle and
portions of the western Sandhills. This may lead to critical fire
weather conditions.
The National Weather Service in North Platte has issued a Fire
Weather Watch, which is in effect from Tuesday morning through
Tuesday evening.
* AFFECTED AREA…Fire weather zone 204.
* WIND…West winds will increase to 20 to 30 MPH with gusts to 35
MPH in the afternoon.
* HUMIDITY…15 to 20 percent.
* THUNDERSTORMS…None expected.
* IMPACTS…any fires that develop could spread rapidly and be
difficult to control.
