The flood warning for portions of Lowndes County has been extended
to Wednesday Afternoon.
* WHAT…Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall
continues.
* WHERE…A portion of northeast Mississippi, including the
following county, Lowndes.
* WHEN…Until 100 PM CDT Wednesday.
* IMPACTS…Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is occurring around the Columbus area,
including Magby Creek. Numerous roads remain closed due to
flooding. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from rain
Sunday.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 300 PM CDT, emergency management reported flooding was
occurring and water had entered several homes. Additional
evacuations and road closures were possible.
– Flooding impacts will continue, as water slowly recedes. No
additional rainfall was expected.
