Special Weather Statement issued April 10 at 2:35PM CDT by NWS Quad Cities IA IL

At 234 PM CDT, trained weather spotters reported a strong
thunderstorm over Mount Union, or 10 miles northeast of Mount
Pleasant, moving southeast at 20 mph. Pea size hail was reported in
Mount Union at 232 PM.

HAZARD…Winds in excess of 40 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE…Trained weather spotters.

IMPACT…Gusty winds could cause minor tree limb damage and blow
around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects
is possible.

This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of east central Henry,
central Des Moines, northeastern Lee and southwestern Louisa
Counties, including the following locations… Augusta, Big Hollow
Recreation Area, Pleasant Grove, Dodgeville, Beaverdale, Des Moines
County Fairgrounds, Welter Recreation Area, Yarmouth, Starr’s Cave
Park and Preserve, and Sperry.
