Hydrologic Outlook issued April 11 at 1:35AM PDT by NWS Elko NV

ESFLKN

Near record warmth is expected in portions of Northern and Central
Nevada thru the end of the week. This will accelerate snowmelt and
enhance runoff into area creeks and rivers.

Creeks and rivers that are susceptible to rapid water level rises
will be most impacted. Waterways affected include, but are not
limited to Martin Creek in Humboldt County, the Owyhee River in Elko
County, the Bruneau River in Elko County, the Jarbidge River in Elko
County, and Salmon Falls Creek in
Elko County.

The latest official forecast no longer indicates that Salmon Falls
Creek will move into action stage before temperatures cool this
weekend. However, while no official forecast exists for the Jarbidge
River and the Bruneau River, flow trends from the last few days
indicate that it is likely that the Jarbidge and Bruneau will reach
action stage by this evening. Not anticipating either river to reach
minor flood stage before this weekend. Action stage is the level
which some type of mitigation is needed in preparation for possible
minor flooding. Water may cause minor impacts and be a nuisance to
persons near the creek.

Residents and outdoor enthusiasts are urged to exercise caution when
walking near rapidly flowing, cold water. Hypothermia can occur
quickly if someone were to fall into cold, swift water with risk of
also being carried downstream.
