EARLY SUNDAY EVENING FOR GUSTY WINDS AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY
FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONES 326, 332, 333, 334, AND 335…
.A passing cold front will bring strong northwesterly winds and
dry air into the area. High temperatures will be in the upper 50s
to mid 60s. Northwesterly winds will increase to 20 to 40 mph
across much of the area, with gusts up to 60 mph possible in the
afternoon. The strongest winds will generally be over south
central South Dakota. Relative humidities will drop below 20
percent in most areas during the afternoon.
The National Weather Service in Rapid City has issued a Fire
Weather Watch for gusty winds and low relative humidity, which is
in effect from Sunday afternoon through Sunday evening.
* AFFECTED AREA…Fire Weather Zones 326 Pine Ridge Area, 332
Badlands Area, 333 Bennett County Area, 334 Mellette and Todd
Counties and 335 Tripp County.
* WINDS…Northwest 20 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph,
strongest over south central South Dakota.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY…As low as around 17 percent.
