…RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT THROUGH 8PM TODAY FOR THE NORTHEAST
HIGHLANDS AND PLAINS, WEST CENTRAL NM, AND THE UPPER RIO GRANDE
AND LOWER CHAMA RIVER VALLEYS DUE TO STRONG WINDS, LOW HUMIDITY
AND HIGH FIRE DANGER…

…RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT SUNDAY BETWEEN 10AM AND 8PM FOR THE
UPPER RIO GRANDE AND LOWER CHAMA RIVER VALLEYS, WEST CENTRAL NM,
AND ALL AREAS ALONG AND EAST OF THE CENTRAL MOUNTAIN CHAIN DUE TO
STRONG WINDS, LOW HUMIDITY AND HIGH FIRE DANGER…

.Well above normal temperatures, very low humidity, strengthening
west-southwest winds, and high fire danger will keep critical
fire weather conditions going through the early evening.

After very poor humidity recovery tonight, another day of
critical fire weather conditions is expected Sunday. Temperatures
will stay several degrees above normal with exceptionally dry
conditions causing humidity to plummet. Winds will also be
slightly stronger than today. Finer fuels and grasses will be most
susceptible to rapid fire spread.

The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a Red Flag
Warning…which is in effect from 10 AM to 8 PM MDT Sunday. The
Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.

* AREA AND TIMING…This includes the Northeast Plains (Zone 104),
the West Central Mountains (Zone 105), West Central Basin and
Range (Zone 109), Upper Rio Grande Valley (Zone 121), and the
Northeast Highlands (Zone 123) today between 1 pm and 8pm and
again Sunday 10 am through 8 pm MDT.

* 20 FOOT WINDS…West southwest winds 20 to 25 mph with gusts up
to 35 mph today. West southwest winds of 25 to 30 mph and
occasional gusts of 40 mph on Sunday.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY…Minimum values between 4 and 9 percent
each day.

* IMPACTS…Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.
