White River At Augusta affecting White and Woodruff Counties.
For the Lower White River…including Newport, Augusta, Georgetown,
Des Arc, Clarendon…Major flooding is forecast.
* WHAT…Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
* WHERE…White River at Des Arc.
* WHEN…Until further notice.
* IMPACTS…At 33.5 feet, Homes and highways at Des Arc and nearby
are flooded. River crested at 33.7 feet in March and again in
April 2008. Very serious flooding. State Highways 33, 38, and 11
all flooded.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 9:00 PM CDT Saturday the stage was 33.1 feet.
– Forecast…The river is currently cresting near 33.0 feet,
and is expected to begin a slow fall on Monday to near 29.3
feet Tuesday, April 22.
– Flood stage is 24.0 feet.
