Florida State Watch Office Morning Situation Report

EOC Activation Level: Level 2
Meteorological Summary:
  • A few isolated showers remain possible across South Florida and the Keys this morning as a cold front sinks southeastward through the region (5-10% chance of rain).

  • Mostly dry conditions statewide throughout the rest of the day and tonight under high pressure (near 0% chance of rain).
  • High temperatures in the middle to upper 70s across North and Central Florida and upper 70s to low 80s across South Florida.

  • Breezy northwesterly to westerly winds near 5-15 mph with gusts upwards of 10-20 mph expected.
  • Sensitive to elevated wildfire conditions can be expected statewide this afternoon and evening.

  • Elevated Risk (level 1 of 3) for Fire Weather across much of Central and South Florida as dry and breezy conditions are likely over areas with dry fuels and ongoing drought conditions.
  • Red Flag Warnings issued for portions of interior and West-Central Florida from this afternoon through this evening as critical wildfire conditions are expected and will allow any fires that develop to catch and spread quickly.
  • Fire Weather Watches extend across South and East-Central Florida from this afternoon through this evening.
  • Low to moderate risk for rip currents nearly statewide; high risk along numerous West-Coast beaches.
  • Low temperatures in the middle 40s to low 50s along the Florida Panhandle and Northeast Florida, low to middle 40s across the Suwannee Valley, low to middle 50s across Central Florida, middle to upper 50s across Southwest Florida, upper 50s to middle 60s across Southeast Florida, and middle to upper 60s along the Keys.
