Special Weather Statement issued April 13 at 4:14PM EDT by NWS Caribou ME

Rain and Snow mix is changing to snow in many locations across the
Central Highlands into Northern Maine. Snowfall is becoming
moderate to heavy at times in some locations. Despite air
temperatures slightly above freezing the road subsurface
temperatures are below freezing. As the sun continues to go down
expecting roads to cool and result in slippery driving conditions
especially across the higher terrain. At 400 PM Maine State
Police Houlton have advised some roads across Aroostook County
are becoming slick and will require treatment. Travelers are
advised to be extra cautious for increasing slippery conditions,
slow down and plan on extra braking distance.
