…Dangerous Fire Weather Conditions Forecasted Thursday; Wind
Shift Also Forecasted…

.Gusty to windy conditions are forecast as southwesterly winds
gusting to 50 mph along with humidity values in the single digits
are forecast leading to dangerous fire weather conditions
Thursday. A wind shift to the north is also forecast to occur
late Thursday afternoon and into the evening hours as a cold front
moves through the area.

The National Weather Service in Goodland has issued a Fire
Weather Watch for wind and low relative humidity, which is in
effect from Thursday morning through Thursday evening.

* AFFECTED AREA…Fire Weather Zones 013 Sherman, 014 Thomas,
015 Sheridan, 016 Graham, 027 Wallace, 028 Logan, 029 Gove,
041 Greeley, 042 Wichita, 253 Kit Carson and 254 Cheyenne.

* TIMING…From Thursday morning through Thursday evening.

* WINDS…Southwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts around 50 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY…Around 8 percent.

* IMPACTS…Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly due
to very high to extreme grassland fire indices. Outdoor burning
and any other activity that includes sparks is not recommended.
