.The Ohio River is expected to crest at Smithland and Paducah
Wednesday, and hold steady at Olmsted and Cairo until Wednesday,
then begin a slow fall.

* WHAT…Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.

* WHERE…Ohio River at Olmsted Lock and Dam.

* WHEN…Until Thursday, April 24.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 11:00 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 48.5 feet.
– Recent Activity…The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 11:00 AM CDT Tuesday was 48.7 feet.
– Forecast…The river is expected to fall below flood stage
Thursday, April 24 and continue falling to 29.8 feet Friday,
April 25.
– Flood stage is 36.0 feet.
