DUE TO GUSTY WINDS AND LOW HUMIDITY…

…RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM THURSDAY MORNING THROUGH
THURSDAY EVENING FOR ALL OF CENTRAL AND NORTHERN NEW MEXICO DUE TO
STRONG WINDS AND VERY LOW HUMIDITY…

.Strengthening southwest winds combined with low humidity will
create areas of critical fire weather conditions for portions of
central and western NM on Wednesday afternoon and evening.
Southwest winds will increase even more on Thursday and combine
with many hours of single-digit humidity to create extremely
critical fire weather conditions across central and northeast NM,
with critical fire weather conditions elsewhere. Critical fire
weather conditions will likely redevelop on Friday across much of
central and eastern NM as strong southwest winds persist.

The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a Red Flag
Warning…which is in effect from 10 AM to 9 PM MDT Thursday. The
Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.

* AREA AND TIMING…This includes the Northwest Plateau (Zone
101), Northeast Plains (Zone 104), East Central Plains (Zone
126), North Central Mountains (Zone 120), and Sangre de Cristo
Mountains (Zone 122).

* 20 FOOT WINDS…Southwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts
between 50 and 60 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY…Minimum values 5 to 10 percent.
