Special Weather Statement issued April 15 at 5:27PM EDT by NWS Wilmington NC

At 527 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Hightsville, or near Wilmington, moving east at 45 mph.

HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 50 mph.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include…
New Hanover Regional Medical Center, Wrightsville Beach, Hightsville,
Cape Fear Community College North Campus, Cape Fear Hospital,
Hampstead, Wilmington International Airport, Masonboro, Murrayville,
University Of North Carolina At Wilmington, Belville, Phoenix,
Navassa, Scotts Hill, Ogden, Wilmington, Mayfaire, Wrightsboro,
Topsail Beach, and Silver Lake.

This includes the following highways…
Interstate 40 between mile markers 415 and 416.
Interstate 140 between mile markers 15 and 20.
