The National Weather Service in El Paso has issued a

* Dust Storm Warning for…
Southwestern Otero County in south central New Mexico…
Southeastern Luna County in southwestern New Mexico…
Southern Dona Ana County in south central New Mexico…
Northwestern El Paso County in western Texas…

* Until 600 PM MDT.

* At 401 PM MDT, a large plume of blowing dust stretched from
southern Luna County through southern Dona Ana County, just west
of El Paso. Dust also stretched into Otero County, but surface
visibility was generally above 1 mile there.

HAZARD…Less than a quarter mile visibility with strong winds up
to 50 mph.

SOURCE…Detected by National Weather Service meteorologists.

IMPACT…Dangerous life-threatening travel.

Interstate 10 in New Mexico between mile markers 107 and 164.
Interstate 10 in Texas between mile markers 1 and 10.
Interstate 25 in New Mexico between mile markers 1 and 18.
Highway 70 in New Mexico between mile markers 150 and 162.

Crater, and Dripping Springs.
