Special Weather Statement issued April 23 at 5:39PM EDT by NWS Newport/Morehead City NC

At 538 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Kinston, moving northeast at 25 mph.

HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.

Locations impacted include…
Dawson, Grifton, Fort Barnwell, Graingers, Ormondsville, Hookerton,
Kinston, Sandy Bottom, Wyse Fork, Kinston Regional Jetport, and
Dover.
