Special Weather Statement issued April 25 at 4:36PM CDT by NWS Birmingham AL

At 435 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Altoona, or 7 miles east of Oneonta, moving northeast at 30 mph.

HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.

Locations impacted include…
Walnut Grove, Gadsden Steam Plant, Mountainboro, Rockledge, Altoona,
Rosa, Aurora, Oneonta, Sardis City, Attalla, Gadsden Water Works,
Northside, Ramsey, Howelton, Crudup, Gallant, Gadsden Municipal
Airport, Horse Pens Forty, Camp Sumatanga, and Steele.
