.As the sun sets this evening, winds will continue to weaken and
humidities will continue to increase in the Middle Rio Grande
Valley. So, the Red Flag Warning will be allowed to expire there
at 7 PM MDT.
Strong southwest winds and very low humidity are forecast along
and west of the Middle Rio Grande Valley Saturday, then areawide
on Sunday when the strongest winds are expected. Gusts up to 60
mph are forecast along the east slopes of the central mountain
chain on Sunday with locally extreme fire weather conditions.
* AREA AND TIMING…West Central Mountains (Zone 105), and the
West-Central Basin and Range (Zone 109) Saturday afternoon,
and Sunday afternoon and early evening.
* 20 FOOT WINDS…Southwest 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY…Minimum values 6 to 10 percent.
* IMPACTS…Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
