For the Lower Mississippi River…including Caruthersville…
elevated river levels are forecast.
* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE…Mississippi River at Caruthersville.
* WHEN…From this afternoon to early Monday morning.
* IMPACTS…At 32.0 feet, In Arkansas, docks of the steel mill near
Hickman are flooding. In Tennessee, Mississippi River overbank
flooding is occurring across Highway 88 just north of Dee Webb
Road. Extensive amounts of Chickasaw National Wildlife Refuge are
flooded. Sloughs at the west end of Barr Road are beginning to
back up into fields.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 3:00 PM CDT Saturday the stage was 31.98 feet and falling.
– Forecast…The river is expected to continue to fall and will
likely fall below action stage on Monday, April 28.
– Action stage is 29.0 feet.
– Flood stage is 32.0 feet.
