Flood Warning issued April 29 at 7:07PM AST until April 30 at 2:00AM AST by NWS San Juan PR

* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE…Barceloneta, Ciales and Manati.

* WHEN…Until 200 AM AST Wednesday.

* IMPACTS…Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams
continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall.
Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be
passable. Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water. It
will take several hours for all the water from these storms to
work through local drainage systems in urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 702 PM AST, gauge reports indicated excessive runoff have
caused Rio Grande de Manati to exceeded minor flood stage in
Manati, with observation around 23 feet. Up to 6 inches of
rain have fallen upstream. Excessive runoff will cause Rio
Grande de Manati to exceed moderate flood stage, and flooding
is anticipated across road PR-2 within the next hour or so.
Emergency managers have taken the necessary precautions and
closed portion of this road PR-2 between kilometers 50.7 and
54.3.
– Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the
warned area.
