Special Weather Statement issued May 2 at 3:22PM EDT by NWS Greenville-Spartanburg SC

At 322 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 5
miles north of Elberton, moving northeast at 20 mph.

HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is
possible.

Locations impacted include…
Dewy Rose, Bowman, Nuberg, Russell State Park, Ruckersville,
Lowndesville, Rock Branch, Iva, Middleton, and Lake Secession.
