* WHAT…Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall on area burn
scars is possible.
* WHERE…A portion of central New Mexico, including the following
area, South Central Mountains.
* WHEN…From Saturday afternoon through Saturday evening.
* IMPACTS…Excessive runoff from area burn scars may result in
flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and
flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their
banks.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– Showers and storms are forecast to develop over the
Sacramento Mountains Saturday afternoon and move slowly
northward into the evening hours. While the flash flood
threat for locations away from burn scars is very low on
Saturday, there is a moderate threat for flash flooding on
and downstream of areas burn scars. This includes Ruidoso.
Rainfall amounts will generally range from 0.25″ to 1.00″ on
Saturday.
