Special Weather Statement issued May 2 at 10:02PM EDT by NWS Greenville-Spartanburg SC

At 1002 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 7
miles west of Brevard, or 4 miles south of Graveyard Fields, moving
east at 25 mph.

HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is
possible.

Locations impacted include…
East Asheville, Crab Creek, Etowah, Hendersonville, West Asheville,
Swannanoa, Warren Wilson College, Tuxedo, Connestee, and Asheville
Airport.
