– The Kuskokwim River at Aniak stopped flowing Thursday morning
with bank to bank ice and some minor flooding in low lying
areas. The River Watch team observed a roughly 30 mile run of
ice upstream of Aniak the past few days…with intact ice
closer to Upper and Lower Kalskag. Water levels rose slightly
at Aniak overnight Friday into Saturday. As this run of ice
continues downriver, there is potential for ice jam flooding
and ice shoves.
