Flood Warning issued May 5 at 3:15PM AKDT until May 6 at 10:00AM AKDT by NWS Anchorage AK

* WHAT…Flooding caused by an ice jam is occurring.

* WHERE…Kuskokwim River near Upper and Lower Kalskag.

* WHEN…Until 1000 AM AKDT Tuesday.

* IMPACTS…Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 305 PM AKDT, the River Watch Team reported that the
breakup front passed Lower Kalskag and then stalled
downriver, likely due to low water and still intact ice
downriver. River levels have come up rapidly and locals have
reported the road between Upper and Lower Kalskag is
impassable.
