* WHAT…Flooding caused by excess runoff.
* WHERE…Areas along Rio Grande de Manati in Barceloneta, Ciales
and Manati.
* WHEN…Until 1100 PM AST.
* IMPACTS…Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams
continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall.
Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be
passable. Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water. It
will take several hours for all the water from these storms to
work through local drainage systems in urban areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 506 PM AST, USGS river gauge reports indicated that the
Rio Grande de Manati is out of its bank. The river will
likely overflow over PR-2, km 51 to 52 from Barceloneta
eastward to Manati, when the USGS river sensor in Manati
reaches 16 ft.
– Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is
expected.
