Flood Warning issued May 5 at 5:19PM AST until May 5 at 11:00PM AST by NWS San Juan PR

* WHAT…Flooding caused by excess runoff is expected.

* WHERE…Areas along Rio Grande de Arecibo in Arecibo.

* WHEN…Until 1100 PM AST.

* IMPACTS…Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams
continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall.
Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water. It will take
several hours for all the water from these storms to work through
local drainage systems in urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 519 PM AST, USGS river sensors indicated that Rio Grande
de Arecibo was out of its banks. Flooding is ongoing or
expected to begin shortly in the warned area. When USGS river
sensor of Rio Grande de Arecibo near San Pedro reaches 13 ft,
PR-123 becomes impassable.
– Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is
expected.
