Special Weather Statement issued May 6 at 5:42PM CDT by NWS Lake Charles LA

At 542 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Bancroft, or 9 miles west of Fields, moving east at 40 mph.

HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 40 mph and nickel size hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to vegetation and outdoor
objects is possible.

Locations impacted include…
Bancroft, Old Salem, Fields, Trout Creek, Bivens, and Merryville.
