* WHAT…Flooding caused by an ice jam continues to be possible.
* WHERE…Yukon River at Ft. Yukon
* WHEN…Through Wednesday morning.
* IMPACTS…Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks.
Low-water crossings may be flooded.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– The breakup front has jammed on the downstream side of Six
Mile Island and is causing flooding in Ft. Yukon. Low lying
areas including some roads and the boat launch are covered by
water.
– As of 3pm Tuesday water levels have started to drop
indicating the jam is releasing. Upstream gages and reports
do not indicate a significant surge of water coming so water
levels should continue dropping
-The RiverWatch team will fly the breakup front again
tomorrow and provide a status update via KZPA.
