Special Weather Statement issued May 7 at 5:41AM CDT by NWS Houston/Galveston TX

At 540 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms 8 miles northwest of San Luis Pass, or 10 miles
southwest of Hitchcock, moving northeast at 15 mph.

HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.

Locations impacted include…
Eastern League City, Galveston Causeway, Galveston Island West End,
Texas City, Alvin, Dickinson, La Marque, Santa Fe, Hitchcock, Kemah,
Galveston Pier 21, Bayou Vista, Jamaica Beach, Tiki Island,
Hillcrest, Liverpool, Scholes Field, Offatts Bayou, Galveston
Pleasure Pier, and Galveston State Park.
