Heavy rain may fall on late season fresh snowpack leading to the
melt increasing. Flows in rivers may increase quickly.

* WHAT…Flash flooding caused by rain and snowmelt is possible.

* WHERE…A portion of north central New Mexico, including the
Hermits Peak Calf Canyon burn scar area.

* WHEN…From Thursday afternoon through Thursday evening.

* IMPACTS…Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– Rainfall rates of half inch to an inch per hour, combined
with rapidly melting snowpack may lead to flooding of rivers
and streams.
