Special Weather Statement issued May 8 at 5:00PM CDT by NWS Hastings NE

At 500 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Asherville, or 9 miles southeast of Beloit, moving southwest at 15
mph.

HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 40 mph and penny size hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.

This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of southeastern
Mitchell County.
