Special Weather Statement issued May 8 at 6:34PM EDT by NWS Jacksonville FL

At 634 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Baxley, moving northeast at 25 mph.

HAZARD…Wind gusts around 40 mph, pea size hail, and excessive
cloud-to-ground lightning.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible. Excessive cloud-to-ground lightning is occurring.

Locations impacted include…
Baxley and Surrency.
