Flood Advisory issued May 9 at 6:07PM CDT until May 9 at 8:00PM CDT by NWS New Orleans LA

* WHAT…Residual urban and small stream flooding caused by
excessive rainfall is occurring.

* WHERE…A portion of southeast Louisiana, including the following
parishes, Jefferson, Orleans, Plaquemines and St. Bernard.

* WHEN…Until 800 PM CDT.

* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Water over roadways.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 606 PM CDT, the public reported flooding in the advisory
area. This is causing urban and small stream flooding.
Overflowing poor drainage areas have already caused flooding
in the advisory area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have
fallen.
– Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is
expected.
– Some locations that will experience flooding include…
New Orleans, Marrero, Metairie, Harvey, Avondale, Timberlane,
Chalmette, Belle Chasse, Jefferson, Gretna, Harahan,
Westwego, Bridge City, Elmwood, Terrytown, Arabi, Woodmere,
River Ridge, Waggaman and Lakefront Airport.
