Flood Warning issued May 12 at 5:51AM CDT until May 12 at 8:45AM CDT by NWS Birmingham AL

* WHAT…Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is
expected.

* WHERE…A portion of central Alabama, including the following
counties, Chilton and Shelby.

* WHEN…Until 845 AM CDT.

* IMPACTS…Small stream flooding may lead to water over roadways
and areal flooding near Cahaba Valley Creek at Indian Trail Road
in Shelby County and along Walnut Creek above Clanton in Chilton
County.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 542 AM CDT, Gauge reports from Walnut Creek above Clanton
and Cahaba Valley Creek at Indian Trail Road indicated small
stream flooding is ongoing due to additional heavy rainfall
of 2 to 3 inches overnight.
– Some locations near these small stream basins that may
experience flooding include…
Hoover, Alabaster, Pelham, Calera, Chelsea, Clanton,
Columbiana, Jemison, Wilsonville, Indian Springs Village,
Thorsby, Harpersville, Westover, Lay Lake, Gap Of The
Mountain, Mitchell Lake, Oak Mountain State Park, Higgins
Ferry Park, Highland Lakes and Mount Laurel.
