Florida State Watch Office Morning Situation Report for Sunday, May 11th, 2025

• The active and unsettled weather pattern will continue today across the Sunshine State with multiple rounds of widespread shower and thunderstorm activity.
• An upper-level disturbance will continue to bring scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms onshore across the Panhandle and West Coast throughout the day (60-95% chance of rain).
• Throughout the rest of the Peninsula, daily sea breeze shower and thunderstorm activity will be enhanced by the nearby disturbance also leading to scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms (65-90% chance of rain).
• The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) is outlooking a Marginal Risk (level 1 of 5) for Severe Weather across North and into Central Florida as embedded strong to severe thunderstorms will be capable of producing lightning, damaging wind gusts (50-60 mph), embedded tornadoes, instances of large hail and heavy downpours.
• Multiple rounds of activity, some with locally heavy downpours, may lead to onset flash flooding especially areas that have already seen heavy rainfall over the last few days.
• The Weather Prediction center (WPC) is outlooking a Slight Risk (level 2 of 4) for Flash Flooding throughout most of North Florida and extending into Central Florida, with a Marginal Risk (level 1of 4) through Central Florida.
• A Flood Watch also remains in effect across portions of the Panhandle and Big Bend through the weekend for the potential for widespread rainfall.
• High temperatures will reach the middle 70s to lower 80s across North Florida, while Central and South Florida will see high temperatures in the middle to upper 80s.
• Feels-like temperatures throughout interior Central and South Florida will reach the lower to middle 90s this afternoon.
• Shower and thunderstorm activity will continue into the evening and overnight hours as the disturbance begins to move inland across the Southeast U.S.
• Showers and thunderstorms will linger across North Florida as drier air attempts to move in behind the system, but scattered to numerous showers nd thunderstorms will continue across the Peninsula (40-90% chance of rain).
• Instances of fog cannot be ruled out early Monday morning throughout the state.
• Low temperatures will fall into the 60s and 70s overnight.
• A moderate to high risk for rip currents can be expected statewide due to onshore winds and elevated surf near 2-4′.
