…CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS EXPECTED IN NORTHEASTERN
MINNESOTA AND IN NORTHWESTERN WISCONSIN TODAY…

.Breezy south-southwesterly to southerly winds gusting to 25 to
35 mph today along with relative humidity values as low as 15
percent will lead to critical fire weather conditions across
northeastern Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin.

Breezy southerly winds with gusts of 20 to 30 mph on Monday along
with relative humidity values as low as 15 percent will lead to
critical fire weather conditions across northeastern Minnesota and
possibly in northwestern Wisconsin.

Additional breezy southerly winds and low relative humidity on
Tuesday may lead to near-critical to critical fire weather
conditions.

The National Weather Service in Duluth has issued a Red Flag
Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect
from noon to 9 PM CDT Monday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer
in effect.

* AFFECTED AREA…In Minnesota, Koochiching, North St. Louis,
Northern Cook and Lake, North Itasca, Central St. Louis, North
Cass, South Itasca, South Cass, Crow Wing, Northern Aitkin,
South Aitkin, Carlton and South St. Louis and Pine.

* WINDS…South 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 to 35 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY…As low as 15 percent.

* IMPACTS…Any fires that ignite will spread rapidly and become
difficult to control. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…RH improves slightly overnight to between
35 to 55 percent before again falling to critically low values again
on Monday.
