Flood Advisory issued May 13 at 8:36AM EDT until May 13 at 9:00AM EDT by NWS Blacksburg VA

* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE…Portions of central and south central Virginia, including
the following counties and independent city, in central Virginia,
Amherst, Appomattox, Campbell and City of Lynchburg. In south
central Virginia, Bedford.

* WHEN…Until 900 AM EDT.

* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is
imminent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 835 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain.
Overflowing poor drainage areas will cause minor flooding in
the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have
fallen.
– This includes the following streams and drainages…
Bear Creek, Buck Branch, Buttom Creek, Allens Creek, Buffalo
River, Blackwater Creek, Big Otter River, Carters Creek,
Burton Creek and Buffalo Creek. Flooding impacts will
continue, but no additional heavy rainfall is expected.
