Special Weather Statement issued May 12 at 9:49PM AKDT by NWS Fairbanks AK

A frontal system from the Bering Sea is bringing rain and much
cooler air to the area this afternoon. Snow levels will fall to
around 1500 feet through the evening with snow expected down to
highway level Monday night into Tuesday morning. There is
considerable uncertainty as to how much snow will fall. It is
likely that areas from Healy to Cantwell on the Parks Highway and
from Donnelly to Isabel Pass on the Richardson Highway will see
1-3 inches. Elevated areas will likely see the highest amounts.
Precipitation will taper off Tuesday afternoon with significant
melting expected Wednesday.
