Potomac River at Hancock affecting Washington and Morgan Counties.

For the Potomac River…including Paw Paw, Hancock, Shepherdstown,
Harpers Ferry, Point of Rocks, Edwards Ferry, Little Falls…
Moderate flooding is forecast.

* WHAT…Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE…Potomac River at Hancock.

* WHEN…From Wednesday afternoon to early Thursday afternoon.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 3:15 PM EDT Tuesday the stage was 5.6 feet, or 19.4 feet
below flood stage.
– Forecast…The river is expected to rise above flood stage
early tomorrow afternoon to a crest of 26.5 feet tomorrow
evening. It will then fall below flood stage Thursday
morning.
– Flood stage is 25.0 feet.
– Flood History…This crest compares to a previous crest of
26.6 feet on 05/09/1960.
