Rip Current Statement issued May 15 at 4:11PM CDT until May 16 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Houston/Galveston TX

* WHAT…For the Beach Hazards Statement, dangerous rip currents
and above normal tides expected. For the High Rip Current Risk,
dangerous rip currents expected.

* WHERE…Gulf-facing beaches, including the Matagorda
Peninsula, Brazoria County beaches, Galveston Island and the
Bolivar Peninsula.

* WHEN…For the Beach Hazards Statement, until 7 PM CDT this
evening. For the High Rip Current Risk, from 7 PM CDT this
evening through Friday evening.

* IMPACTS…Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away
from shore into deeper water.
