Meteorological Summary:
 
  • High pressure will remain in control of the weather over the Eastern Gulf extending into the Florida Peninsula today. This will keep the weather dry statewide, with unseasonably warm temperatures.
  • Locally sensitive wildfire conditions will develop across interior Northeast Florida as relative humidity values fall near critical thresholds over drying grounds and soils.
  • Occasional wind gusts this afternoon out of the west at 10 to 15 mph are expected across North Florida.
  • high risk of rip currents is expected along the Florida Panhandle Beaches from Walton County eastward through Gulf County. A moderate risk of rip currents is expected along the Florida East Coast from Volusia County southward through Martin County as well as the Western Florida Panhandle beaches west of Walton County.
  • Tropical cyclone formation is not expected during the next 7 days in the Atlantic Basin.
