Flood Warning issued May 17 at 3:13PM CDT by NWS Jackson MS

…The National Weather Service in Jackson MS has issued a Flood
Warning for the following rivers in Mississippi…

Yazoo River At Yazoo City affecting Yazoo County.

* WHAT…Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE…Yazoo River at Yazoo City.

* WHEN…From this afternoon until further notice.

* IMPACTS…At 32.0 feet, Minor flooding of mostly agricultural land
is occurring outside the levee protection system.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 2:00 PM CDT Saturday the stage was 30.6 feet.
– Forecast…The river will rise to 30.9 feet this evening. It
will then fall just after midnight tonight. It will rise to
33.0 feet early tomorrow afternoon. It will then fall early
Tuesday morning. It will rise to 32.4 feet Wednesday evening.
It will then fall again but remain above flood stage.
– Flood stage is 29.0 feet.
– Flood History…This crest compares to a previous crest of
33.0 feet on 06/01/1958.
