SUNDAY EVENING FOR THE MIDDLE RIO GRANDE VALLEY, WEST CENTRAL
BASIN AND RANGE, SANDIA/MANZANO MOUNTAINS, AND CENTRAL HIGHLANDS,
DUE TO STRONG WINDS, LOW HUMIDITY, AND HIGH FIRE DANGER…

…RED FLAG WARNING FOR THE MIDDLE RIO GRANDE VALLEY AND
SANDIA/MANZANO MOUNTAINS TODAY HAS EXPIRED…

This afternoon’s red flag warning for the Middle Rio Grande Valley
and Sandia and Manzano Mountains has expired as winds are expected
to taper off and humidity will continue to rise overnight. Southwest
to west winds strengthen further on Sunday ahead and south of a
storm system, expanding the area of critical fire weather to west-
central NM and the central highlands. Minimum humidity again
falls into the single- digits for five to ten hours on Sunday in
south- central NM.

* AREA AND TIMING…Middle Rio Grande Valley (Zone 106) and Sandia
and Manzano Mountains (Zone 124) Sunday from 11AM to 9PM MDT.

* 20 FOOT WINDS…Southwest to west winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts
to 45 mph on Sunday.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY…6 to 12 percent both today and Sunday.

* IMPACTS…Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.
