Special Weather Statement issued May 18 at 6:55AM CDT by NWS Birmingham AL

At 654 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 7
miles west of Goldville, or 9 miles northeast of Goodwater, moving
east at 45 mph.

HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 40 mph and penny size hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.

Locations impacted include…
Malone, Goldville, Cleveland Crossroads, Dickert, Lake Wedowee,
Cragford, R.L. Harris Dam, Ofelia, Tennant, Hackneyville, Wedowee,
Daviston, Abanda, Crystal Lake, Motley, Roselle, Millerville, Wadley,
Mellow Valley, and Rock Stand.
