Special Weather Statement issued May 19 at 5:56AM CDT by NWS Brownsville TX

The combination of well-above normal temperatures and increased
humidity values will produce Heat Index values up to 110 degrees
for a few hours this afternoon across portions of Starr, Hidalgo,
Brooks, and Kenedy counties. A few locations, especially along
the Rio Grande in Starr and Hidalgo counties, may briefly
experience Heat Index values up to 112 degrees mid-afternoon.

Remember to drink plenty of water, wear lightweight and light-
colored clothing, and take frequent breaks from the heat. Children
and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles.
