At 640 PM MDT/740 PM CDT/, a severe squall line capable of producing
both tornadoes and extensive straight line wind damage was located 5
miles northeast of Haigler, or 17 miles west of Benkelman, moving
northeast at 30 mph.
HAZARD…Tornado and ping pong ball size hail.
SOURCE…Radar indicated rotation.
IMPACT…Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage
to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is
likely.
This tornadic thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of
northwestern Cheyenne County in northwestern Kansas and southwestern
Dundy Counties in southwestern Nebraska, including the following
