Special Weather Statement issued May 21 at 8:40AM CDT by NWS Lake Charles LA

At 840 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Holmwood, or near Iowa, moving east at 30 mph.

HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to vegetation and outdoor
objects is possible.

Locations impacted include…
Lake Charles, Welsh, Iowa, Hayes, Thornwell, Holmwood, Lacassine, and
Bell City.
