Beach Hazards Statement issued May 22 at 3:28PM EDT until May 23 at 2:00AM EDT by NWS Grand Rapids MI

* WHAT…High wave action, strong currents, and dangerous
swimming conditions expected. Piers may be heavily swamped by
waves.

* WHERE…Mason, Oceana, Muskegon, Ottawa, Allegan and Van Buren
counties.

* WHEN…Until 2 AM EDT Friday.

* IMPACTS…Strong currents can pull swimmers into deeper water
and high waves can sweep people off piers.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…North winds 10 to 20 mph and waves 3-6 feet
will create dangerous currents, especially on the south side of
piers. Water temperatures in the upper 40s to around 50 will
pose a hazard to swimmers as well.
