* WHAT…Dangerous rip currents.

* WHERE…Kings (Brooklyn), Southwest Suffolk, Southeast
Suffolk, Southern Queens and Southern Nassau Counties.

* WHEN…Through Saturday evening.

* IMPACTS…Life-threatening rip currents are likely for all
people entering the surf zone. Anyone visiting the beaches
should stay out of the surf. Rip currents can sweep even the
best swimmers away from shore into deeper water.

Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the area. At 424 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 9 miles north of Holopaw, moving east at 10 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and nickel size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include...
